Western Power Customer Funded Work Subcommittee
NECA Technical are involved in supporting members wherever possible to deliver suitable outcomes. We are still receiving feedback from frustrated members trying to connect to Western Power’s network, from single connections to supplying apartments.
NECA Technical raised these issues at the recent Western Power Land Development Strategic Reference Group. The outcome of this was the formation of a subcommittee, named the Customer Funded Work Group Subcommittee.
The group recently held their first meeting and includes representation from not only NECA Technical but also the Urban Development Institute of Australia, Housing Institute of Australia, Local Government Authorities and Western Power.
The agreed primary areas of focus are the costs associated with connections, design and transparency of a project, and how these areas can be improved.
The group will meet monthly and in the next meeting we will review a scoped project to highlight the deficiencies found throughout.
NECA Technical will keep members fully informed of any developments.
