AS/NZS 3017:2022 Electrical installations – Verification and testing

The major changes in this edition are as follows:

(i) Increased guidance on selection and checking of test equipment.
(ii) Most figures illustrating test procedures amended for increased clarity.
(iii) Figures amended to reflect increasing use of residual current devices (RCDs).
(iv) Test for de-energized added, to be carried out before all other testing.
(v) Tests for polarity, phase rotation and correct circuit connections combined, because they are  interrelated.
(vi) Testing for correct installation and functioning of RCDs amended.

AS/NZS 3001.1:2022 Connectable electrical installations and supply arrangements (Part 1)

The major changes in this edition are as follows:

(a) AS/NZS 3001 has been divided into two parts. Part 1 specifies requirements for site supplies for connectable electrical installations.
(b) Alterations and repairs for site supplies have been included.
(c) Section 2 encompasses site supplies at caravan parks and camping grounds.
(d) Section 3 encompasses site supplies at locations other than at caravan parks or camping grounds.
(e) Section 4 encompasses testing and inspection requirements.
(f) Additional requirements have been set out for the use of common submains to supply multiple service pillars, including by ring circuit.
(g) New figures have been included and existing figures updated.
(h) Appendix A has been updated to reflect increased supply requirements for new installations.

AS/NZS 3001.2:2022 Connectable electrical installations and supply arrangements (Part 2)

The major changes in this edition are as follows:

(a) AS/NZS 3001 has been divided into two parts. Part 2 specifies requirements for electrical installations in connectable electrical installations.
(b) Section 1 provides the scope, inclusions and exclusions of this Standard. The definitions, as well as the alterations and repairs clauses have been expanded.
(c) Section 2 provides external supply connection and onboard supply installation requirements applicable to a connectable electrical installation.
(d) Section 3 provides the installation requirements for relocatable units.
(e) Section 4 provides the installation requirements for recreational vehicles and non-recreational vehicles.
(f) Section 5 provides the installation requirements for extra-low voltage wiring systems and equipment in all connectable electrical installations.
(g) Section 6 provides verification requirements in all connectable electrical installations.
(h) The issuing of Warrants of Electrical Fitness has been amended for New Zealand, see Appendix D.
