Update - Synergy's entry into the solar market

ECA WA recently met with the Ben Wyatt’s, Chief of Staff, Roger Martin, to discuss our concerns over Synergy’s recent entry into the retail solar market.

Whilst the government were sympathetic to our concerns, they advised that the Treasurer’s ability to change a decision made by the Board of Synergy was limited and would require passing a motion through both houses of Parliament. Given this, Mr Martin suggested meeting directly with Synergy’s management to further discuss the issues.

We will soon be meeting with Synergy’s General Manager Retail, Geoff Roberts, to further discuss our concerns. The meeting is scheduled prior to Christmas and we will advise members of the outcome of these discussions in the New Year.
