Single Touch Payroll (STP) is an added reporting requirement designed to streamline reporting to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
Each pay cycle, you’ll be sending employees’ tax and super information direct to the ATO from your payroll provider.
If you and your software are ready, you need to start reporting through STP. If not, you’ll need to apply for your own deferred start date.
You have until 1 July 2019 (subject to legislation being passed), but if you and your software are ready there’s nothing stopping you from starting right now.
