Removal of Service Protective Devices (SPD)

NECA Technical has recently received a number of queries in relation to the removal of Service Protective Devices for de-energising a domestic installation to undertake work on the main switchboard.

This issue was also raised at recent EnergySafety briefing sessions in relation to the Code of Practice for 'Persons working on or near energised electrical installations'.

Below is an extract from Energy Bulletin 77 that permits the removal of SPD for de-energising a domestic installation.
