Funding for employers of apprentices

Electrical Group Training have had meetings with the WA Department of Workforce Development and Training and State Government ministers to discuss apprenticeship funding, in particular the State Government’s proposal for a new Employment Incentive Scheme which will provide funding to contractors who employ apprentices.

There are some caveats on the proposal. Firstly, it will not be available to employers until the apprentice has completed their first six months of training. Secondly, it will not be available to any employer who received funding for their apprentice from the Construction Training Fund (CTF).  

However, despite these issues the scheme looks like it may be beneficial to small business employers. We will keep you informed of the progress of our discussions with the department.
