DRAFT AS/NZS 4836:2022 open for comment until 1 June 2022

Public comment is invited for:

DR AS/NZS 4836:2022 Safe working on or near low-voltage electrical installations and equipment

This Standard was prepared by the Joint Standards Australia/Standards New Zealand Committee EL-001, Wiring Rules, to supersede AS/NZS 4836:2011.

The objective of this document is to provide principles of safe working practices and recommended safe working procedures when working on or near low-voltage electrical installations and equipment.

The major changes in this edition involve additional information on the following:

• Principles of risk management, assessment of risk and risk treatment.
• Working with asbestos and polychlorinated biphenyls.
• Working below ground level.
• Cutting cables and wiring enclosures.
• Selection and use of test equipment.
• Selection and use of personal protective equipment.
• Preservation of an incident scene.
